HISTORY
Expectations. It's a word that has been hanging over Minho's head since the moment he entered this world. His father is one of the greatest Quidditch players to ever set foot on the pitch, and Minho's elder brother is shaping up to be even better. Which means that Minho was expected to do the same. To get top marks in his classes. To be a star player on his House quidditch team. To be prefect. To be head boy in his seventh year. To be just like his brother in every way except for name. It was a special kind of hell and for his years leading up to enrolling into Hogwarts, he felt like he was drowning under these expectations. Yet Hogwarts is a place full of mysteries and those halls had an odd way of catering to every student to help them become who they were meant to be.

His only solace within his family is his mother. She was muggle born and never had to deal with the pressure that some witches and wizards have to deal with from growing up in the wizarding world. She took him to visit his muggle grandparents often and it were the happiest moments of his life. He didn't have his father bearing down on him to study more or train more for that inevitable day he went into the pro Quidditch league. He didn't have to sit in his brother's shadow and watch how he just always seemed to do the right thing and bring a smile to their father's eye. Minho never meant to have resentment towards his elder brother but it was hard not to.

Minho can only hope that his beginning at Hogwarts will go as planned. His father was a proud Gryffindor and his brother had been sorted into the house as well. His mother was even a Ravenclaw and it was her wit that had made his father fall head over heels in love. She stressed that no matter what house he got sorted into, she would be proud of Minho but not becoming a Gryffindor felt like he'd just be losing to his brother and disappointing his father again. It was a frustrating feeling, living in someone else's shadow and feeling like he could never escape it. But there's a part of him deep down that is ready to break free from this and become his own person. He just hopes Hogwarts will be the place this can happen.

ABILITIES/SKILLS
Coming from a family with a heavy history in Quidditch, Minho has been flying on brooms longer than he's been walking. He has a great love for the sport and plans on trying out for his house team when he reaches his second year. He's gone to the championship game every year with his father and brother and looks forward to watching the houses take to the pitch against each other throughout the year. He does secretly hope Gryffindor loses a few matches if hes not sorted into the house. Watching his brother's frustrated face gives him a special kind of joy. And if he isn't a Gryffindor after the sorting hat ceremony, he wants to be the one who puts that scowl on his face.

Minho has something of an affinity for plants. His mother tended to a garden at home and would let Minho help her with it as he grew up when he couldn't stand being stuck inside with his nose in a book. Learning about different flowers and plants was calming for him but it was most likely just his mother's presence that brought the feelings on. He likes to keep a few potted plants next to his bed to help him sleep and relax. It felt like he was weaving spells without a wand sometimes. This is the one thing he has over his brother and it always made his mother smile and pat his head when would look over his brother's holiday homework from Hogwarts and point out his mistakes on all his Herbology answers. It was the one thing that was purely Minho and couldn't be taken away from him.
